Name: Derek Dimond
Lot #(s) owned: 507, 508, 517
Owner since: 2013
Skills or current job:
Commander (Salt Lake City Police Department, 29 years)
Retired Command Sergeant Major (US Army National Guard, 36 years)
Education:
Associates and Bachelor’s degrees in Criminal Justice, Master of Business
Administration (MBA) with Specialization in Organizational Leadership.
A little bit about yourself: I have a long history of leadership and management
through the Police Department and US Army.
I built my cabin from the ground up with my 4 adult sons and a few friends. I have
always been actively engaged with Aspen Hills and regularly repair the roads and keep
the trees and brush around my cabin and the adjacent area. I’ve always been willing to
help out anyone in the area get unstuck, doing manual labor or just for knowledge about
the mountain and building cabins. I’ve been to almost every annual board meeting and
yearly clean up since we’ve been property owners.
Why are you running: The board members of Aspen Hills are instrumental in making
the mountain a great place to enjoy and keeping it safe and clean. It takes a lot of extra
time and work to serve on the board, and I feel like it’s time for me to give back to the
association.
